Just submitted the fifth call of the Prize Eurostars Hotels Travel Narrative

The event, organized by the Hotusa Group in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and RBA Libros SA, a single grant award of 18,000 euros to the story that, at the discretion of the jury, is the best story or series of stories submitted in the competition.

With a minimum of 80 and a maximum of 150 pages, typed double-spaced and single-sided, the originals must be presented in Spanish and may stick to one story or to be divided into 3 separate accounts, provided they do not exceed the length limit. There is also a condition sine qua non that the papers submitted are original and unpublished and not specific to any prize.

Applicants must submit 5 copies of his book, appropriately bound in the Communications Unit of the University of Barcelona (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585. 08007. Barcelona). The delivery period ends next May 31, 2009. The competition may not be considered desert and were not accepted stories transmitted by email.

One of the great attractions of this award is that the winning is distributed free of charge at over 4,000 rooms in 51 establishments of the Eurostars Hotels chain in Spain, several European countries and Latin America. At present, customers of the chain belonging to the Hotusa group may enjoy “Asante Africa,” the winner in the last edition of which have produced a total of 10,000 copies.

BASES INTEGRATED EUROSTARS V PRIZE FOR FICTION TRAVEL HOTELS

Hotusa Hotels in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and RBA Libros SA, announces the “Prize EUROSTARS HOTELS travel narrative” of 2009, granted in accordance with the following stipulations:

First.

May participate in this competition all writers, whatever their nationality, to submit travel stories from original and unpublished and not specific to any prize. Each entry shall be signed with the name of the author and contact information - address, phone and / or e-mail - or under a pseudonym, the latter being indispensable, in separate and enclosed, which contains the User ID employing the author of the work, they expressed their name and contact information. This invariably remain on closed, except for the work to get the “Premio EUROSTARS HOTELS travel narrative.”

By participating in the contest stakeholders agree and acknowledge that their personal data are collected by the organization of the competition, who will deal with the purposes specified in it (communications, awards ceremony, etc.).. The personal data file to be created for this purpose, has security measures in accordance with current regulations and will be destroyed on December 31, 2009.

Second.

Manuscripts should be written in Castilian and its extension should have a minimum of 80 pages and not exceed 150 pages in total and double-spaced on one side only. He must choose between writing a single story or a maximum of three within the allowed extension.

Third.

Hotusa Hotels awarded a prize only eighteen thousand euros (18,000 .- EUR) to the work which unanimously or in his absence by a majority vote of the jury, was to be the most merit. In no case shall the award be declared void.

Fourth.

In any of the votes, any work submitted for this award and to obtain more than half the votes in a ballot may be eliminated directly.

Fifth.

The admission of the original ending May 31 of year two thousand nine, and the verdict of the jury, no appeal was made public in September of that year.

Sixth.

All work submitted to the competition within the period, implies the author’s commitment not to withdraw before being made public the decision of the Jury

Seventh.

Writers who wish to qualify for the prize, delivered five original, duly bound, in the Communications Unit of the Universitat de Barcelona Gran Vía de les Corts Catalanes, n. 585, 08007 Barcelona, making notes on the cover of the same prize that contributes to the purpose of these bases. No copies are permitted, sent by e-mail.

Eighth.

The jury has to award the “Prize EUROSTARS HOTELS travel narrative” will be composed of 1 representative of the University of Barcelona, 1 representative of RBA Libros SA, representative of 1 and 2 HOTUSA Hotels renowned writers, plus a secretary without vote

Ninth.

With the Award given by the amount described in the Third Base, will be acquired the following rights of exploitation of the work:

1. The amount of the prize indicated in the Third Base, implies the acceptance by the author’s right to make Hotusa Hotels exclusive first edition of a minimum of 10,000 copies to distribute award-winning story for free in their hotel chain - Eurostars Hotels — entitled to print new editions of it. Hotusa Hotels also reserves the right of publication (in the above conditions) in other languages and its dissemination in any medium. Regardless, the University of Barcelona reserves the right to edit the winning entry in Catalan.

2. RBA Libros SA made an issue for the sale of which the winner shall also receive the prize at Third Base, 10% on the retail price without VAT of each book sold.

For all items not specified in these rules, the author, and Hotusa Hotels RBA Libros SA are required to sign a publishing contract in which it will recognize the assignment of the exclusive publishing rights.

Tenth.

The prize is subject to withholding for income tax under the laws applicable

Eleventh.

Universitat de Barcelona will be limited to hand receipts works properly submitted to the contest within the prescribed period, without committing to hold correspondence with some opting for the prize or to provide information on their classification of narratives.

The return of the originals shall be no winners at the request of the authors and from the same upon delivery of the respective certificate, submitted by the author or person duly authorized by him in writing. This request must be made before October 15 of year two thousand nine.

The originals have not been claimed by that date will be destroyed. Universitat de Barcelona, RBA Libros SA shall not be liable for accidental loss of some original.

Twelfth

Participation in this award automatically implies the full and total acceptance, without reservation, of these bases. For any differences which had to be settled in court, the parties waive the right to own jurisdiction and submit to the Courts of Barcelona.
