March 10, 2008
The Hotel Eurostars Ciudad de Cordoba 4* presents, from 6 March to 6 May, an exhibition by José Mario Fajardo. The exhibition comprises a series of canvases in which Fajardo carries out a conscientious investigation of light in all its forms.José Mario Fajardo (Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid, 1955) began his art career in Agustín del Valle’s workshop. During his apprenticeship, he made frequent visits to the Prado Museum where he came into contact with legendary artists of the likes of Goya and Sorolla. In his career of over thirty years, Fajardo has constantly studied the use of light, an interest which has accompanied him since his first abstract paintings through to his current figurative phase. “My paintings are the synthesis of the concept of the colours of light applied to a certain plane, which produce as a result spaces and harmony that pervades the whole canvas”, adds the artist. As a result, according to Fajardo, his work is suffused with colours showing an unequal behaviour, giving rise to a luminous and very generous palate”. Paintings by José Mario Fajardo have been shown in various exhibitions during his career, in places such as the Torres Vegué Gallery in Madrid or the Soledad Arroyo Art Gallery in Toledo.
