Lume inundates the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel with an explosion of colour
March 3, 2008
The Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel***** G.L. presents an exhibition dedicated to the French artist, Ludivine Lapasset, ‘Lume’ (Marseilles, 1979). The exhibition, which will be held from 4th March through to 1st May, will be officially opened on Tuesday, 4th March, as from 8 p.m.
In all the Lume creations on display at the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel, the salient feature, which glows in its own light, is the role played by colour. Influenced by the conception of the chromatic theory defended by Michel Pastoreau, Lume tries to transmit to us in her paintings the importance of colour over perceptions, behaviour and feelings. From this basis, the French artist gives priority to chromatics as opposed to form on a series of canvases born, she says, “from the attempt to transmit the fruits of self contemplation with my emotions, doubts, sorrows, dislikes and talents”.
Paintings such as ‘Fragile Equilibrium’, ‘The Great Emptiness, ‘Floating in silence’ or ‘In the Shadow of the Past’, form part of this exhibition. This painter’s career began in her native France, taking part in various collective and individual exhibitions. She has participated in shows organized by the Sumbaya Gallery in Rome (2003), Courant d’Art de Mulhouse, France (2004) and in Spain, the Palau de la Mercè Gallery in Gerona (2006), the Montesqui Gallery in Madrid or the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Gallery in Malaga (2008).
