Laly Arnas and her colourful landscapes, on show at the Eurostars Gaudí

May 23, 2008

Colour is the main theme of the latest exhibition to be shown by the Eurostars Gaudí 4* in Barcelona. The hotel presents, until next 20 June, a series of water colours created by Laly Arnas (Barcelona, 1957).  This is an artist with many facets who finds in the interpretation of landscapes her main motivations.

Laly Arnas affirms that her work is an attempt to “let the elements define themselves and I let myself be led by what they suggest. I am looking for the freshness and forcefulness of colour”, adds the artist, for whom the precise definition of the form takes second place in her creations.

As far as subject matter is concerned, work by Arnas is much focused on portraying natural landscapes, using particularly, green and blue tones.  In any case, Laly Arnas’s artistic career has evolved over the years. Having trained at the Tutfas school, the Lledó workshop and the Artchicoria studio, Arnas has taken part in various exhibitions, both shared and individual. In the former, her work has been shown at Espai Llantia (Barcelona, 2006) or at the Sala Freda (Caldes de Montbui, Barcelona, 2004). Regarding her individual exhibitions, paintings by Arnas have been displayed at the Espai l’Embruix or at the Espai Sofa (Barcelona, 2007 and 2008).
