‘Ducópolis’ rises the curtain in Barcelona

October 3, 2008

The 8th edition of the International Documentaries Festival in Barcelona Docúpolis starts with great expectation. The event rises big novelties - up to 47 films in competition - and with a hint of the past. This year the selection “retrospectives” is dedicated to Mexico (6 documentaries produced in Mexico will be shown), and to the Peruvian Director Javier Corcuera.

The festival, which will take place from the 1st to the 5th of October at the Contemporary Culture Centre in Barcelona (Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona), is formed by four official session; best documentary (for which 12 films are competing), the Opera Prima, best short documentary and the section OFF Docúpolis, destined to new trends.

For the general public, the access to the film has a price of 4€, the rest of projections such as the retrospectives are free.

The present edition of Docúpolis, in the director Hugo Salinas´own words is for “those who dream, who observe, who film and for the theoretics, the builders, for the present, the future, for the risky, the ones that make mistakes, for the ones that fly”.
