Joaquín Cortés
March 10, 2008
Joaquín Cortés, devilishly handsome and dressed by Jean Paul Gaultier, indulges in a frenetic show of foot-stamping, sweat-spurting, shamelessly attention-seeking flamenco dance with interludes of rapturous applause from the audience. With his private clan of musicians and singers to frame him, JC attains new heights in Latino kitch in this highly theatrical performance entitled Mi Soledad (My Solitude). Leave your boyfriend at home. O-lé. Tickets are €20-€58

Wushu
March 10, 2008
Wushu has a wok and knows how to use it. In fact, this restaurant knew how to use it so well, whipping up a range of Asian treats (pad Thai, lo mein and laksa) and sending them tumbling in generous potions into mammoth plates, that queues began to form. Now in bigger but no less lovely premises, Wushu offers good Asian grub rarely found in Barcelona, courtesy of expert Aussie chef Bradley Ainsworth.

Family Silverware Exhibition
March 10, 2008
A new exhibition in Hungarian National Museum features the amazing collection of silver tableware from the 18th and 19th century.
The collection of gold and silver works of art that represents country’s culture and history was started over 200 years ago. Many of the pieces were obtained by the museum during the Socialist period when many were forced to part with precious heirlooms, and acquired from Pawn Store Company, that used to be a monoplist in the antiques market in Hungary.
In addition to table silverware crafted in Hungary, the collection also features some works made outside the territory of the former Habsburg Monarchy, especially the splendid works of Viennese goldsmiths.
The exhibition will continue till 24th March, on the second floor of the Hungarian National Museum.
Address: VIII district, Múzeum krt. 14-16
Open: Tue-Sun 10:00-18:00

Alicia Keys

Wallet? Keys? Hopes and Dreams?
She’s hot, intelligent AND she can sing? These three virtues, rarely experienced together (however much they try to make us believe it), intermingle and explode in the lovely Alicia Keys. Go and hear her in action on March 16th. The venue is Pavelló Olímpic de Badalona (Barcelona) NB. This is NOT the Olympic stadium on Montjuïc, but a 12,500-seater basketball stadium slightly out of town. The show starts at 9pm and you have the added pleasure of getting out at a Metro station called Gorg.
