March, a joint exhibition with artistic creations by Sandra García, composed of about fifteen paintings in which this Madrid painter reflects situations with a great emotional impact.
Sandra García recreates sensations and sentiments in her work, profoundly emotional experiences that have taken place at a particular moment of existence. “Situations which come and go and with which we can all feel identified”, explains Sandra Garcia. For the purpose, the artist uses her two favourite media: painting and photography, from where she creates a universe in which emotions are reflected through a prism that, paradoxically, “vary according to the emotional state of mind of the moment”.Artistically influenced by the pop art and impressionist schools, Sandra García’s creations are markedly figurative. To reach this point, García has developed a career in constant evolution. Her commencement dates from 2001, when she achieved placement as a finalist in the 8th edition of the ‘Routes of the World’ magazine’s Photography Award, in a shared exhibition held in the HYMSA Gallery in Barcelona. In 2003, she achieved first prize in the Marcopolo Club’s Photography Award in Bilbao, as well as in the advertising illustration event organized by the ‘20 Minutes’ daily tabloid. Then, in 2004, she won the International Comic Award, organized by the publishers, Editorial Saure. Throughout this time, creations by García have also been on show in Madrid, Vigo and Strasburg art galleries.
