Aníbal Riverol fills the hotel Eurostars Cristal Palace with his very personal cityscapes

The Eurostars Cristal Palace (Barcelona) presents, until 30 March, an exhibition starring paintings by Aníbal Riverol (Venezuela, 1960). This Latin American artist displays in the Barcelona establishment a series of paintings in which he pays dedicates his attention to city landscapes and the human figure.
At the same time, the artist points out that his work introduces “a contemporary trend with regard to techniques and effects”; a revolutionary medium with which Riverol works to find “different solutions for basic concepts, like textures, transparencies or fadings”.
Aníbal Riverol’s career began in 1984, in Barcelona, the city which inspires most of his work. Having obtained his degree in Fine Arts from Barcelona University that same year, Riverol was selected for the 5th Contemporary Paintings Biennale held by La Caixa, in Barcelona. Between 1988 and 1990, Riverol displayed his work at the Artisans Art Gallery in Florida (U.S.A.), as well as at the Parés Gallery in Barcelona. In 2001, his work was exhibited at the Freiburg European Forum, Germany, while in 2003, he participated in the ‘American Prints’ exhibition, in Madrid. With regard to his recent exhibitions, Aníbal Riverol exhibited his work in 2007 at the Modus Gallery in Paris.
