18th Autum in Prague; one of the most important classical music festival in the World

The International Autumn Classical Music Festival in Prague (www.prazskypodzim.cz), in its 18th edition, will take place from the 12th September to the 1st October 2008. This festival closes the most important summer chain festival in Europe, which has become an inseparable part of the musical scheme in Prague.
The Autumn Festival has united the best artists and groups from all over the world since it started in 1991, and year after year has gained fame and prestige. At present, it takes place at the Philharmonic Orchestra Headquarters, the Rudolfium venue, where a wide range of concerts and recitals of all sorts are offered; from ambitious projects to more commercial performances. All of them played by musicians and artists from different places in the world.
This year the Budapest Gipsy Symphony Orchestra will participate (21/9) and will perform “100 gipsy violins” and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liverpool (16 and 17/9), permanent star of the festival, which will present a collection of Arias and Artistic poems.
The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra (15/9) directed by George Pehlivanian will represent the indispensable national talent in this edition.
On the other hand, the soprano Kristine Opolais and the Tenor Steven Harrison accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Prague (21/9) will be the responsible for the most representative moments; The Arias show.
Without a doubt, the diversity of the program and the quality of the solo artists and groups will prove, one more year, that this festival is one of the most importants in the world.
